FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have a 3 year old Kindergarten Program?

A: At present our Kindy operates a two unit kindergarten program with places for 88 children. Children must turn 4 years of age before the 30th June in the year they attend. Children turning 4 from 1st July will attend the following year.

Q: What hours do children attend?

A: From 2022 children attend either a 2 day week program from 8.30am – 4pm Monday and Tuesday or a 3 day week program from 8.30am – 2.30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Q: How many children will be in my child’s class?

We are a 2 unit centre catering for 44 children each day of the week. Our staff ratio of 2 adults to 22 children is always maintained. More often than not the ratio of adult to child is higher with a 2nd assistant often employed and a parent helper present daily in the program.

Q: Does Emily Foord offer after hours care for children?

A: We are unable to offer after hours care at this time.

Q: How do I enrol my child?

A: You can do it online here! Complete the application form and pay the $22 waitlist fee online. Offers begin in July of the year prior to your child being eligible to attend and are based on your position on the wait list. You will be notified by email if your child is offered a position.

Q: What are the fees?

A: Fees are charged in advance and invoiced each term (please see fees for costs). If you are the holder of a government issued Health Care Card you are also able to claim a substantial rebate.

Q: Can my child attend two Kindergarten Programs?

A: The government regulations for funding stipulate that children are only able to receive funding for one Approved Kindergarten program. Children who attend a second centre will not receive government funding on the second program and can be subject to higher fees.
